⚾ Beneath the baseball field at Frederick Senior High School lies a hidden danger: two plugged oil & gas wells that lie beneath the turf where kids play.

With 103 active wells within one mile and 21 spills in the last decade, Frederick Senior High ranks 9th on our list of most impacted schools.

Currently, fracking operations are allowed to take place just 2000’ from homes, school buildings and school playgrounds. The industry has shown blatant disregard for public health and safety, and the current state regulatory body – the Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) – has not provided responsible protective regulatory oversight to prevent inappropriate siting of toxic fracking operations adjacent to homes, schools and water sources.
