Colorado Rising Joins Aurora Fracking Protest at ECMC Headquarters

It was wonderful to see so many other friendly faces at the “JUST SAY NO” fracking protest outside the ECMC Headquarters in Denver!  On Tuesday the 18th, about 50 or more concerned citizens rallied to show their disapproval of the proposed fracking project (State Sunlight Long) near the Aurora Reservoir.  This project (and all the others in the Lowry CAP) has faced sustained and vehement opposition from residents and people all over Colorado.  The rally was timed to precede the 3 days of hearings that oil and gas regulators will hold on Nov 18,19, 20.  Many, many hundreds of public comments have already been submitted and more testimony will be heard during the hearing.

Protesters dressed in costumes, gave speeches, banged drums, and waved signs.  Response from pedestrians and people driving by on the street was very enthusiastic!  This protest was organized by our friends at Climate Defiance ColoradoSunrise Movement Denver, and Green Latinos.
