2023 Youth Unity Rising Summit

The 2023 Youth Unity Rising Summit on October 27th, 2023 at CSU Spur will be an inclusive and safe space to provide high school aged youth with immersive learning experiences through student-led workshops, empowering resources, and a panel discussion of youth organizers. Because we believe in the power of intentional connectivity, we’ve created this space for students to come together and learn from each other and other leaders in the community. We are a collective of students and organizations working together to bring teachings led and moderated by Black, Indigenous, People of Color, & LGBTQIA2S+ youth and allies.

Our goals are to provide opportunities to learn more about sustainable practices and utilize our collective resources to engage the next generation of leaders. By providing intersectional teachings, we will teach diverse platforms to encourage the youth of today to engage in meaningful action. Workshops will include environmental justice, stewardship, leadership, advocacy, inclusive health, and wellness.

Our core mission is to build community to advance equity, diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility for all. We aim to foster a culture where every participant feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve both individual and common goals. With intent, we have planned this event to welcome people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religion, national origin, migratory status, disability/ability, political affiliation, and socioeconomic background.

Join us in the first student-led Youth Unity Rising Summit for free food, educational workshops, and opportunities to connect with organizations and other youth.

CUMBRE YOUTH UNITY RISING 2023

La Cumbre Youth Unity Rising 2023, que se celebrará el 27 de octubre de 2023 en CSU Spur, será un espacio inclusivo y seguro para brindar a los jóvenes en edad de escuela secundaria experiencias de aprendizaje inmersivas a través de talleres dirigidos por estudiantes, recursos de empoderamiento y un panel de discusión de organizadores juveniles. Por que nosotras creemos en el poder de la conectividad intencional, hemos creado este espacio para que los estudiantes se reúnan y aprendan unos de otros y de otros líderes de la comunidad. Somos un colectivo de estudiantes y organizaciones que trabajamos juntos para brindar enseñanzas dirigidas y moderadas por jóvenes y aliados afrodescendientes, indígenas, personas de color y LGBTQIA2S+.

Nuestros objetivos son brindar oportunidades para aprender más sobre prácticas sustentables y utilizar nuestros recursos colectivos para involucrar a la próxima generación de líderes. Al brindar enseñanzas interseccionales, enseñaremos diversas plataformas para alentar a los jóvenes de hoy a participar en acciones significativas. Los talleres incluirán justicia ambiental, administración, liderazgo, promoción, salud inclusiva y bienestar.

Nuestra misión principal es construir una comunidad para promover la equidad, la diversidad, la inclusión y la accesibilidad para todos. Nuestro objetivo es fomentar una cultura en la que cada participante se sienta valorado, apoyado e inspirado para lograr objetivos tanto individuales como comunes. Con la intención, hemos planeado este evento para dar la bienvenida a personas de todas las razas, etnias, géneros, orientación sexual, identidad de género, expresión de género, religión, origen nacional, estatus migratorio, discapacidad/capacidad, afiliación política y origen socioeconómico.

Native Seed Collection Day of Stewardship at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge - Oct 28, 2023

Join us outside to get a chance to be part of prairie ecosystem restoration efforts by helping collect seeds from wildflowers at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. We will collect Rocky Mountain bee plants, sunflowers, rabbitbrush, and four-winged saltbush. The seeds collected from this project are then used in springtime seed distribution projects. Students will learn about environmental stewardship and what other resources the Refuge has. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy time to explore the Refuge and connect with one another.

DÍA DE ADMINISTRACIÓN DE LA RECOLECCIÓN DE SEMILLAS NATIVAS EN EL REFUGIO NACIONAL DE VIDA SILVESTRE DEL ARSENAL DE LAS MONTAÑAS ROCAS - 28 DE OCTUBRE DE 2023

Únase a nosotros afuera para tener la oportunidad de ser parte de los esfuerzos de restauración del ecosistema de las praderas ayudando a recolectar semillas de flores silvestres en el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Recolectaremos plantas de abejas de las Montañas Rocosas, girasoles, arbustos de conejo y arbustos salados de cuatro alas. Las semillas recolectadas en este proyecto se utilizan luego en proyectos de distribución de semillas de primavera. Los estudiantes aprenderán sobre la gestión ambiental y qué otros recursos tiene el Refugio. Luego, disfrutaremos de tiempo para explorar el Refugio y conectarnos unos con otros.

Platte River Clean-up with Patagonia Denver - Oct 29, 2023

Join Patagonia Denver, Denver Parks and Recreation, & Youth Unity Rising Summit coalition partners for a Platte River Cleanup on October 29th.

We’ll be set up on the landing under REI Denver (1416 Platte St, Denver CO 80202) at 10 AM. Denver Parks and Recreation will be onsite with waivers, supplies, and helpful safety info.

What to bring:

Sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water
Closed-toe shoes and dressing for sun exposure
A pair of gardening gloves and hand sanitizer
Optional – your best Halloween costume

Limpieza del Río Platte con Patagonia Denver - 29 DE OCTUBRE DE 2023

Únase a los socios de la coalición Patagonia Denver, Parques y Recreación de Denver y Youth Unity Rising Summit para una limpieza del río Platte el 29 de octubre.

Estaremos instalados en el rellano debajo de REI Denver. (1416 Platte St, Denver CO 80202) a las 10 a.m. Parques y Recreación de Denver estará presente con exenciones, suministros e información de seguridad útil.

Qué tener a mano:

Protector solar, sombrero y mucha agua.
Zapatos cerrados y vestimenta para exponerse al sol.
Un par de guantes de jardinería y desinfectante para manos.
Opcional: tu mejor disfraz de Halloween.
